S-1826 Extractor - Liquid - Liquid

Designed for continuous extraction of us EPA priority pollutants or other extractable organics from one liter aqueous samples. This replaces labor intensive separatory funnel type extractions and also eliminates emulsion formation, which is a common problem during separatory funnel extractions.

Using a heating mantle, boil a volatile, heavier than water solvent in the flask, vapors re-condense in the condenser and Drip through a frit in the drip spout union, dispersed small droplets fall through the aqueous sample in the extraction chamber and extract organic compounds. The solvent then reenters the flask from the bottom of the extraction chamber through a Teflon tube. The cycle continues until most of the extractable material is removed from the sample.
Glass and Teflon construction ensures contamination free extraction. The apparatus can be dismantled for cleaning. Teflon parts can be economically replaced when needed.
